The MassHire South Shore Workforce Board is overseen by a Board of Directors of dedicated individuals from the private sector, labor, educational institutions, community-based organizations, and state and federal entities. The Board of Directors is a business-led policy setting body that provides strategic direction for the overall South Shore Workforce Development system.
The MassHire South Shore Workforce Board is operated within the administration of the City of Quincy Workforce Development Department under Mayor Thomas P. Koch, who is the Chief Elected Official.

Committees
The MassHire South Shore Workforce Board has various committees designed to support the work of the staff and volunteers of the organization, and the MassHire South Shore Career Center operations.
Executive Committee: The Executive Committee is responsible for oversight and approval of all policy, fiduciary and operational aspects of the MassHire South Shore Workforce Board System.
Planning and Policy Committee: The Planning and Policy Committee meets as needed to review and make recommendations concerning the Strategic Plan, Annual Plan and various short/long term policy matters.
Manufacturing Advisory Committee: The South Shore Manufacturing Advisory Group consists of representatives from area manufacturers, educational institutions and industry associations who work collectively to address a variety of Action Items identified in the 2017 Manufacturing on the South Shore of Massachusetts Report.
Youth Advisory Board: The primary role of the Youth Advisory Board is to provide insight and expertise in youth policy. Its members reflect the region and assist the MassHire South Shore Workforce Board in understanding and addressing youth education and workforce readiness issues.
Workforce and Industry Cluster: The Workforce and Industry Cluster Committee examines the workforce needs of critical and emerging industries in the region as identified and makes policy and programmatic recommendations to address the needs.
